Josh Flavell ACS

Biography

Josh is an award winning cinematographer and a graduate of The Australian Film Television & Radio School. His experience encompasses a wide range of narrative, commercial, and documentary projects.

In his work Josh seeks to discover the dramatic ‘essence’ of a story and tell this story in pictures. His methodology does not presuppose any particular style or fashion and it is through a collaborative and evolving process that he adapts his vision and beliefs to create unique and emotive images.

Prior to studying cinematography Josh spent six years working his way up the ranks in the camera department, undergoing an intensive apprenticeship on feature films, television series and commercials under the guidance of some of the world’s top cinematographers.

Josh’s work has screened at numerous international film festivals including Cannes and Berlin. Outside of his time in the film industry Josh has travelled extensively and completed a degree in architecture.
